1. The intent is to create a place to meet for local residents and out of town visitors alike.

2. The proposal generates an intimate landscape to be experienced while in motion: at different speeds, for different lengths of time, and for all seasons. Emphasis is placed on linear movement, motivated by the current use of the park for biking, dog walking, and strolling along the canal. Linear movement is orchestrated primarily through three different path systems: choreographed for different speeds and physical effort. Spatially, this is achieved through topographical manipulation/grading and vegetation.

3. We propose to manipulate ground such that landforms are created over and along which visitors move. Moving earth allows for a maximum spatial effect with minimal technological means. This grading strategy is inspired by the existing forested landform, and the opportunity to dig down (low ground water table).

4. To further support this idea of creating an intense landscape, the landforms are covered with vegetation through ecological strategies, including self seeding practices, minimal interventions and maintenance. The result is that of a natural environment in a state of continual change.

5. The Main Street Promenade is seen as a zone that mediates between the town and the park; it offers space for a variety of (urban) uses, as well as multiple accesses to the park.

6. The Cloudy Road connects the town with the Cape Cod Canal, ultimately the greatest asset of the Buzzards Bay.

7. The park is constructed with local labor and minimal technology and with minimal cost
